3. How We Store Your Data
🔒 Privacy by Design: Your data stays on your device.
We do not operate servers that store your personal routine data. All information is stored locally on your device or in your private iCloud account.

4. Data Retention
Your routine data is retained on your device for as long as you use the App:
- Active Use: Data persists until you manually delete it or uninstall the App
- Uninstallation: All local data is permanently deleted when you uninstall Rotinely
- iCloud Data: Remains in your iCloud account until you delete it or disable sync
- Crash Reports: Retained by Apple for up to 25 months per their policies
5. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide and maintain the App's core functionality
- Display your routines in widgets and Live Activities
- Calculate statistics and track your progress
- Process subscription purchases (via Apple)
- Improve App stability and fix bugs (via anonymized crash reports)
6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do NOT:
- Sell, rent, or trade your personal data
- Share data with advertisers or ad networks
- Use third-party analytics that personally identify you
- Access your routine data—it never leaves your device/iCloud

7. Live Activities & Widgets
When you start a routine, Rotinely uses iOS Live Activities and widgets to display your progress:
- This data is processed entirely on your device
- Managed by iOS system frameworks
- Automatically removed when the routine ends or you dismiss it
- Never transmitted to external servers
8. Security Measures
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data:
- Local Encryption: Data stored using iOS secure storage (SwiftData with device encryption)
- iCloud Encryption: All synced data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple
- No Remote Access: We cannot access your data as it never reaches our servers
- Secure Coding: We follow Apple's security best practices and guidelines
9. Your Rights and Choices
9.1 All Users
- Access: View all your data directly within the App
- Correction: Edit or modify your routines at any time
- Deletion: Delete individual routines or uninstall to remove all data
- Disable Sync: Turn off iCloud sync in iOS Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Rotinely

10. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
If you purchase a subscription:
- All payments are processed securely by Apple through the App Store
- We receive anonymized transaction data (purchase date, product ID, subscription status)
- We do NOT receive your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details
- Apple's Privacy Policy and Terms govern payment processing
- Your routine data remains on your device regardless of subscription status
11. Children's Privacy
Rotinely is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to delete such information.
12. International Data Transfers
Since your data is stored locally on your device and in your personal iCloud account, there are no international data transfers by us. Apple may transfer iCloud data internationally according to their privacy policy and applicable data protection agreements.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by:
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
- Including notice in App Store update notes for material changes
